First of all you have to know that we are not surfers, at least not the ones you are use to. We prefer football, a good bottle of wine, and some nice portuguese food and friends to go along with it. The truth is that we started to make surfboards, not only because we love the waves and the ocean, but also because we didn´t relate with the surf scene or the surfers around us, and we just wanted to do something for us and our friends.
Simple, fun and adequate surfboards for every type of wave and surfer. And we have been very happy making some money doing what we love. And our friends too, with boards that make them happy.
Benga or Mr. Benga, is the boss behind every move of the Crooks. Loving the ocean as much he loves is computer, he is the responsible for us to have a website in the first place. A hacker and a programmer in real life, he spends the rest of his time relaxing watching his Benfica team playing or catching some waves at the beach. He is the man to talk, if you mean bussiness.
An ex-football player and ex-artist, he divides is time between Lisbon and the world. Alfredo is the anti-creative force behind the Crooks. Drinking wine, travelling and surfing like a crazy guy. He makes surfboards for pretty girls and crazy guys. Hard to get, the last time we have seen him, he was kissing a girl from Hong Kong in Tokyo.
One of the first clients and an old friend of the Crooks, "Flat" Tim became naturally part of the gang. As a client he was always a pain in the ass, his German side push us to work harder and better in these years making surfboards. Every month he finds a way to leave Hamburg to come surf with us. Now his more than a friend and client, he is one of us (in Germany).
The crazy australian that told Alfredo that it was easier (and nicer) to shape a surfboard, than to steal one. A real Lisbon lover, he was the first one to believe in the Crooks project and lent money to buy the first blanks. Like a normal aussie, he lives constantly traveling the world. He was last seen in India providing solar pannels and electricity to poor families.
